Happy Fourth!
We had a fun fourth of July! It was Henry's first fourth and the weather was simply gorgeous! We started the day with delicious waffles with strawberries. Matt decided to work on the patio. I helped weed an area that we are going to be landscaping soon. We ate lunch, went and bought some pop-its and sparklers, and some food.

We headed over to my parents to celebrate for the evening. We played a game of ladder ball, enjoyed some chips and cabbage salsa and some cold beers. Yummy! Jack was super excited for pop-its. Last year he laughed uncontrollably with each little pop-it. This year he enjoyed it too, as did Henry. Their laughter is amazing! When the big booms started, Jack was not happy at all.

Jack spent the rest of the evening inside. The noise really made him very nervous. He did however, enjoy watching the fountains from the window with Elmo by his side. We enjoyed a fire, good company and some fireworks (from afar of course!) Jack finally just got too scared as it got darker and more and more fireworks were going off around the area. We packed him and Henry up and headed home. I felt so bad for Jack. He was literally shaking because he was so scared.
The drive home was amazing. The moon over the bay was almost magical. It was huge and orange. We could see the fireworks around the bay as we drove over the Narrows Bridge. Jack was super scared still so he fell asleep in our bed. At one point in the night, all four of us were in our bed. It was a memorable day and even more memorable night. I hope Jack will enjoy the fireworks next year.
