Our little man is 1!

Henry is 1! To celebrate our little man baby, we had a little man party, complete with mustaches and all! We hosted the party at my parents' house because our house is just too small to have all the people who are so important to us and Henry! Get ready for picture overload!

I have taken a monthly picture of both boys their first year of life. Here is Henry's banner. My favorite was 10 months when I couldn't get him to sit still, so its the back of him. Real life!

I used these paper fans that I found on amazon, to add to the decor. I used my cricut to create the banner.

I again went to our local bakery to create Henry's cake and smash cake! Both turned out super cute! The party would not be complete without paper straws and mustaches! These were a hit. I used my cricut to cut out the 'staches and bought the adorable straws on etsy!

For favors, I made chocolate mustaches out of white and milk chocolate. They were also used as props for pictures :). I was surprised how easy it was to make my own lollypops!
It was an amazing first year with Henry. We went through lots of up and some downs. I am so blessed to be his mama, and loved celebrating with our friends and family. It truly does take a village!
The birthday boy! Onesie from our local baby store!

My adorable grandparents!

Enjoying his yummy cake!
We love you Henry Blaine!

Jack's Third Birthday

It feels weird to write that; Jack's Third Birthday. Wasn't it just yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with him? And now he is three? Wow, the old cliche is true; time does fly!

We celebrated Jack's third birthday on Veteran's day. Having two children with birthdays three days apart, we had to split the parties as far as we could. We had just a few family members come over to have soup and cake for our little man!
Jack is very into Thomas the Train so we had a Thomas party.I ordered these incredibly cute invites off of Etsy from the shop ianandlola.
We decorated the house with colorful balloons, lots of Thomas the Train paraphernalia and of course a handmade banner made by me. Jack loved it all! He didn't want me to take the decorations down after the party was over, so they hung around for most of the week.
To make his birthday extra special, I ordered a Thomas cake from a local bakery, Corina Bakery. It turned out amazing! When we discussed what I wanted, they told me just to bring in a train. I had no idea what to expect. The cake was definitely a highlight of the party!

Jack loved his birthday! I think he felt special. He was very excited for the roundhouse for his trains. Unfortunately it was the first thing he opened, and had no desire to open any other presents. After a talk in the other room, and Nana hiding the roundhouse we were able to proceed with a happy birthday boy!

I cannot believe he is three. Each day is a new adventure with Mr. Jack Thomas! We are so blessed to be this little man's mommy and daddy. I am so thankful for him, the joy he brings to us and everyone who meets him. Happy Birthday, Jack!

Thankful Day 17: Happy Birthday, Henry!

Today my little Henry is 1! I remember the day he was born so vividly. I was 12 days late, and was being induced. I remember not sleeping. My mind was racing about what my body was going to to through, racing about who this little man was going to be. We woke up super early to get ready and call the hospital to check in. I remember being so anxious.

We spent most of the day hanging out as the pitocin dripped slowly into my iv. Everything got intense after my doctor broke my water at 5:30. 5 short, but intense hours later, Henry Blaine Yarkosky entered the world.

I remember them telling me that he definitely was bigger than Jack. The first time I laid eyes on him I said, "Hi Henry! Happy Birthday, little guy! I love you!" I will never forget that little guy with all his hair!

I am so blessed to be his mama. We have had quite a year. There have been ups, there have been downs. I am amazed daily at this gentle, funny, curious and happy little guy.

Happy Birthday, Henry! I cannot wait for our next adventure!
Love,
Mama

Thankful Day 14

Today my little guy is 3 years old! I am so thankful that I get to be his mama. I have learned so much over the last few years. Jack inspires me daily to be a better mom, wife and person. Being a mom is hard work, but the rewards are tremendous.

Happy birthday, Jack! You are a blessing to me, Daddy and Henry, and everyone around you. I am proud of the little man you are becoming. Love you, Bubba!

Thankful Day 7-10

I got a bit behind, so here we go!

Day 7: I am thankful, that finally after months and months of waiting, we have finally signed our refinance papers! This is going to save us a ton of money each month. It is also going to help during the holidays that we don't have to make a house payment until January! YAY!!!

Day 8: I am thankful for my job. I am thankful that I get to work with amazing people and teach some pretty neat kiddos. It is amazing that I get paid to do what I love!

Day 9: I am SO thankful for date nights. I love the nights that its just me and my Yark. The time we get to focus on us and celebrate our life together. Seriously, I am one lucky lady. I am also thankful for family who babysit so we can have time to just us.

Day 10: I am thankful for Saturdays at home with my boys. I am thankful that we get to hang out, get coffee, play and relax. There is no where I would rather be.
